Possible Second Album Track Titles Found
Friday, February 27th, 2009For those of you that haven’t already seen it, Johnny Foreigner’s psychogeography, a Google map of locations referenced in their lyrics, is not to be missed — and it’s now produced yet more gems. In what could be described as an easter egg of sorts, the map was updated back on January 21st with 11 new locations added. These additions reference songs such as “Feels Like Summer,” “Dark Harbourzz” and “The Coast Was Always Clear,” which were all played in the later half of 2008 and can be seen live on beatcast.tv.
However, three new, unheard songs are also mentioned: “Custom Scenes And The Parties That Make Them,” featuring lyrics such as “they come and bleed on yr sheets,” which makes you wonder what really happened in New York City whilst the band were hanging out of 15th story window. Austin, Texas, “where we could see the stars like holiday heaven,” provides the setting for “Temp. Promenade,” giving a more global feel to Johnny Foreigner’s newest material, as expected, but not forgetting their roots as another lyric given states “im having revelations in some student union,” refering to last summer’s appearance at Truck Festival. Japan is the setting for “More Heart, Less Tongue,” and again speculation can only ensue as to what comes before the lyric “or any place we’re almost leaving.”
Whether any of these songs are debuted on the band’s European tour with Sky Larkin, or UK tour withHundred Reasons, or even make it onto Johnny Foreigner’s next record remains to be seen. We’ll be present at the London date with Hundred Reasons, but if anyone would like to send in a tracklisting or review of any of the other dates then you can contact us at keepingsomedarksecrets{at}googlemail{dot}com
