Alexei Picks The Next 19 CDs You Will Buy For SweepingTheNation
Sunday, June 21st, 2009Have you seen this? As the half of the KSDS editorial team that is approaching geriatric we certainly vouch for the older titles that Mr. Berrow lauds, from the exceptional Radiohead album cut “Vegetable” to Pavement’s gripping “Grounded.” Alexei’s reminiscence of rapture at serial listens to Smashing Pumpkins‘ “Today” sounds familiar to us, although at that time we were in our second year of university (and must admit to feeling that “Mayonaise” is the superior track on Siamese Dreams, and that all of Gish is superior to all of what came after). That Owls track: sublime, as is the entire album. Anyway, read the entire thing, and then hit up Audiogalaxy or Soulseek or whatever it is that the youth of today does to acquire music these days. Us? We’re still record store people. But no matter, Berrow’s picks are well worth browsing the used bins or the Internerds, so pop on over to SweepingTheNation and have a look.
